North Providence High School Auditorium Renovations
Transforming the Auditorium into a Modern Space for Students
The North Providence High School auditorium was in dire need of renovation. Outdated conditions included dusty curtains, uncomfortable seating, and inadequate sound and lighting systems.
Solution
The StudioJAED team was brought in to address these issues with a comprehensive upgrade plan, which included:
- Revamping the entrance
- Upgrading seating
- Replacing and enhancing lighting
- Upgrading the sound system and acoustics
- Installing wall paneling
Collaborating with Shawmut Design and Construction and the North Providence School Department, the team transformed the space into a modern, inviting environment for students, faculty, and guests.
Impact
The renovated auditorium is a significant improvement over the previous space, which suffered from poor air circulation, inadequate lighting, and subpar acoustics. The new design ensures optimal lighting and sound quality, enhancing the overall experience. During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, a former student noted the remarkable improvement in sound quality, highlighting the reduction of echo that once plagued the balcony seating area. Additionally, the new flooring outside the auditorium, now adorned with the North Providence High School logo, has replaced the previously bare area.
The revamped auditorium now serves as a vibrant venue for students to enjoy and take pride in, providing an excellent setting for dramatic performances, musical events, and other special gatherings.
