Career Education Corporation
Facilities Condition Assessment
Scope of Work
StudioJAED was contracted by the Career Education Corporation (CEC) to conduct a comprehensive review and performance audit of 13 different campuses throughout the country. The StudioJAED team conducted thorough site visits of each campus in order to document current conditions including lease audits, facilities operational assessments, building and equipment evaluation, code compliance, and capital planning issues.
Before conducting the site visits, the StudioJAED team collected information on facilities standards, leases, operating costs, maintenance and operations procedures, and capital plans. During walk-through conditions assessments, the StudioJAED team determined each building's deferred maintenance requirements and used the findings to complete cost estimating for necessary upgrades to the facilities.
The CEC manages more than 90 campuses internationally with over 75,000 students including such institutions as the International Academy of Design and Technology, Colorado Technical University, Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institutes, Sanford-Brown Colleges and Institutes, and American Intercontinental University.
