Providence Public Schools for the City of Providence, Rhode Island, retained StudioJAED to conduct a Districtwide facilities assessment. Working with project manager Gilbane i.Management, a division of Gilbane Building Company, StudioJAED's Facilities Solutions team performed the assessment to provide the City with a comprehensive background of information needed to prepare a Capital Plan for future building improvements.
The facilities assessment program included: a comprehensive analysis of the physical building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and supporting components; the development of cost estimates for required work; and a preliminary capacity analysis based on currently defined strategic goals. Additionally, we provided an asset survey of major facility assets, such as roofs, doors and windows, and maintenance assets, including heating systems, generators, air handling units and electrical distribution equipment.
StudioJAED's architects and engineers identified detailed building/site deficiencies and assigned appropriate priority levels and reasons. The data was provided in our interactive desktop database tool to allow Gilbane and the City of Providence Public Schools to sort and query the data to develop accurate budget projections and work scope reports. The City of Providence Public Schools used the assessment data to develop a long-range facilities plan.
